Valentine Surprise

Wishful thinking... Unrecognized expectation...
Near disappointment...
- A surprise outing,
a coffee,
and an apology (from me) -

Reality strikes...
Much of the stress in my life is my own fault! (Only 'much' because my pride
won't let me admit that its
very nearly ALL my own doing.)

Joy realized...
Today is good. Now if I can just let go of how I think things should be and Trust in God's plans - which are always better.

Today's pursuit...
Actually try to live out Paul's admonition to

"Be ANXIOUS for NOTHING,
but in EVERYTHING
by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving
Let your requests
be made known to God." Phil 4:6

Imagine the possibilities

Midterms...

Really need I say more?

Why believe a ground hog?!?!

So... why do we do it?

Why would we treat February 2nd like a holiday and claim that a smallish rodent can predict the next six weeks of weather?



My opinion - Its simply to break up the montany that threatens to invade and conquer the day.
But we mustn't let it! Today is an adventure if you're willing to take it.

I'm reading George MacDonald's "Phantastes" for a class (which will receive a blog post entirely for itself) and a great line in it from the main character,

"I sat a long time unwilling to go;

but my unfinished story urged me on.

I must act and wander."

To celebrate this odd and unusual holiday - I host an annual pancake feed (since I am in college this will be held at 8:30pm).
